Supplementary Planning Documents

Many Local Authorities have compiled guidance on air quality and planning issues. Some of these are formally adopted Supplementary Planning Documents (prior to 2004 called Supplementary Planning Guidance), whilst others are more informal guidance to developers. Both approaches can greatly assist in encouraging a consistent approach to considering the air quality impacts of proposed developments. Some examples are provided below.
