Measures - Raising Awareness (Education)
Raising awareness of air quality, especially in an educational context is considered in many Air Quality Action Plans. There are several ways of linking air quality to the national curriculum - some Local Authorities have carried out short term diffusion tube surveys in school grounds while others have produced an education pack and an educational focus to their air quality website. Perth & Kinross:
Perth & Kinross Air Quality website - Action planning information for the region in the "Action on Air" section. A dedicated children's section also makes the website appeal to a wider audience. Latest pollution information is also provided.
CLAIRE - Sustainable Chiltern - Interactive e.g. section on 'fun experiments', submit art work, puzzles page, 'Tips', interactive e.g. examples of lichens affected by AQ.
Surrey Heath Air Quality Kids Area - Interactive quiz, pollutant information plus information about air quality and climate change.
Doncaster's Fresh Air website This site mentions Care4Air awards which can be awarded to schools, providing incentive to do something, Offer the chance for schools to monitor their air quality around the school grounds using NO2 diffusion tubes, Downloadable activity sheets to help learn about air quality are also provided.

Cheshire & West Cheshire:
Visit Whitby Park Air Quality Trail - A 'trail' of artwork has been set up (0.4 mi) to improve awareness of changes in AQ since 1950s. Map & quiz downloadable, with names of correct entries posted in public places
Visit Northern Ireland's Kids' Corner! which provides a kids Quiz and information about pollutants.
